After we showed you quick lunch recipes and healthy snacks in our our “Corona Home Office” series, we thought it still needed drink recipes.

With the rise in temperatures, we hopefully all feel spring finally settle in. At the same time, we can’t enjoy our iced coffees or homemade ice teas in our favorite cafés. Social distancing and home office doesn’t necessarily mean you have to miss out on everything though!

Water and tea of course are the healthiest drink option, but we shouldn’t fool ourselves: they're far from the most delicious ones. But then, grabbing the next best soft drink from the supermarket also should be done in moderation, since it can include more sugar than you sometimes want.

While Fritz Kola and Charitea are delicious and definitely have their own advantages and are recommendable in reasonable dosages, we want to show you how easy delicious drinks are to make at home. The biggest advantage: you decide what goes in them!

Here is some inspiration that you can then customize to your heart's desire:

Refreshing Lemonade

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” according to a famous quote. In times of Corona times we would more accurately rephrase it: “When the supermarket still has lemons, grab them all before anyone else can. And since you have way to many, might as well make lemonade.” ;)

Of course, we don’t support hoarding! If you still are lucky enough to have some lemons laying around and don’t want them to just rot in the fridge, make some easy lemonade.

Here is the basic recipe for the refreshing drink that according to allrecipes is “the best ever”. Feel free to adjust with additional herbs you have laying around or other fruits.

Ginger Shot - The Immune System Booster

Health has been an even bigger focus in the last few months. Therefore, boosting your immune system can become your next goal and it doesn’t have to involve vitamin pills or artificial sources. How about a refreshing and healthy drink instead, that also boosts the metabolisms and wakes you up instead?

Which magic juice entails all those benefits? The ginger shot of course! The slightly sharp, citrusy shots are pretty expensive in store, but are much cheaper if homemade. Inspiredtaste not only has the recipe for the perfect ginger shot, but also gives you two more alterations to enjoy the healthy root.

Liquid Vitamins - Watercress Green Smoothie

The recommended daily intake of fruits and veggies is between 7-10 portions. Would you say you eat that every day? If I am really honest and review my natural intake, then I admit that I usually fall short. It gets easier to stick to the recommendation when you have your veggies in a smoothie instead, that you can just slurp while you work away in home office.

This watercress green smoothie from Spirtuallyhealth has been one of my go to's lately. It is refreshing without tasting of liqufied salad. And it reminds me spring is actually happening, even if it doesn’t always feel like it. This version has mango and avocado for sweetness and some healthy fats.

Chocolate Peanut Protein Smoothie: Nutty Muscle Supporter

Do you also count yourself into the group of people who have started working out more since they were forced into home office? I picked up bike riding and yoga for example. To now support the muscles you are training, give your body the right ingredients to work with.

Don’t worry about ordering a kilogram of protein powder. Plant alternatives also are great sources of protein. Add to it the natural fats nuts have and give this Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie by Sally's Baking Addiction a whirl and you will have even more power for your next home workout.

Grapefruit Rosemary Mocktail - Fizzy Completion

Just because you are working from home right now rather than in an office, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to have an after-work drink. If your alarm goes off the next morning, you can just make something that doesn’t involve alcohol without cutting down on the flavor of a cocktail.

This grapefruit rosemary mocktail by Likemotherlikedaughter is perfect for nights on the balcony or on your comfortable couch.
